Why does SILK SA use 22 Momme silk instead of lighter silk?
Momme (pronounced “moe-mee”) measures the density and quality of silk. While many silk products are made from 16 or 19 Momme silk, SILK SA chooses 22 Momme because it offers superior durability, a richer feel, a more luxurious drape, and a longer lifespan. It is exceptionally smooth against the skin while being robust enough for everyday use, making it the ideal choice for silk pillowcases, sleepwear and bedding.
Is SILK SA silk made from genuine Mulberry Silk?
Absolutely. Every SILK SA product is made using 100% pure Mulberry Silk—the highest quality silk available. Our silk is produced from silkworms that feed exclusively on mulberry leaves, creating long, uniform fibres renowned for their natural softness, strength, lustre and breathability. We never blend our silk with synthetic fibres or lower-grade materials.
